The 2021 Nissan Rogue and 2021 Chevy Equinox are popular crossover SUV models for very good reason. Both offer comfortable seating for up to five passengers with relatively luxurious appointments in a very affordable SUV platform. Both SUVs offer to give you economical engines and your choice of front-wheel or AWD with a CVT transmission sending the power to your preferred drivetrain. The Rogue and Equinox come with quality sound systems, driver assistance safety tech, and generally high safety ratings. Either one can tow a small trailer.
While both SUVs generally are very good, the Nissan Rogue delivers more power with better fuel economy from its highly economical engine. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the Equinox is overmatched by the Rogue's naturally aspirated, 2.5-liter inline-four engine. The Rogue also holds significantly more cargo with more than 36 cubic feet that expands to more than 74 cubic feet. The Equinox holds about 30 cubic feet of cargo that expands to about 64 cubic feet with a seating area included.
