TOP FEATURES
2021 Altima vs. Hyundai Sonata
The 2021 Nissan Altima and 2021 Hyundai Sonata are two great examples of very popular mid-size sedans. Both offer a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor as standard equipment with an option for a turbocharged four-cylinder with the Nissan offering 2.0-liters to the Sonata’s 1.-6 liters plus a turbocharger. A CVT transmission sends the power to the drive wheels. Both sedans give you four doors, comfortable seating for up to five, and about 16 cubic feet of trunk space.

Why the Altima Beats the Sonata
Both sedans have great engine choices that produce good power and fuel economy, but only the Altima gives you AWD. The Sonata only is available in FWD, which greatly reduces its handling and performance. The Altima’s two engines – including the bigger turbocharged motor – paired with the AWD really transforms the experience from a typical passenger car into a well-handling performance machine. And you still get great fuel economy.
